Christmas Holidays

On Christmas morning, it is traditional in our family to take a hallway photo of the children before they go down to open Santa Claus gifts. My parents took a photo of my sisters & I every year, and my sisters and I continue the tradition with our children. It is neat to see how they grow through the years! Blake, Wade & Kathryn are excited to see their stockings. This is the first year we haven't spent Christmas with family for 9 years.
My sister, Lisa, Brent & their 5 children spent 2 weeks visiting us right after Christmas. We took them to Windsor Castle, and here is our family with one of the Queen's guards. Stan's sister, Jeanne & Ken & their 3 boys also came to visit us, and we had such a nice time with both families!

We drove out to Shrivenham (where we lived last year) to see the countryside, and visited the White Horse near Uffington. It is a white chalk horse on a hill, and is thought to date back to the Bronze Age. Our families took a picnic, and we just about froze while eating in the wind!

After sightseeing in London and around England, we (okay, I!) had this crazy idea to take my sister's family to Paris on the train for a few days. They totally loved seeing Notre Dame & the Eiffel Tower, but it was crazy to travel with 4 adults & 8 children! The kids were great & walked all over Paris & tried new & strange foods. Here the Eiffel Tower is lit up at night - amazing!
